INTERVIEW | Jovan Vukićević, SUNSEEKER ADRIATIC | The Client Acquires Not Merely a Yacht – But an Experience!

When it comes to luxury on the water, Sunseeker stands as the benchmark that defines excellence. Behind every prestigious brand lies a team of dedicated professionals, and among them is Jovan Vukićević, an intermediary in yacht sales within the Sunseeker Montenegro team. His role extends beyond simply connecting clients with their dream vessels; he conveys a portion of that dream through his comprehensive knowledge, experience, and genuine passion for the nautical world

You grew up in a nautical family, and today you are part of one of the most prestigious names in the industry. How was your professional development?

The sea and vessels have been a part of my life since my earliest childhood. I was raised in a family deeply connected to nautical pursuits – from competitive sailing, which I actively participated in as a child, to our family tourist boat that we restored together and on which I worked for several formative years. Throughout my studies, I dedicated every summer to working as a skipper, which provided me with invaluable practical experience while also cultivating my understanding of people, responsibility, and adaptability to diverse situations.

My family always owned a boat, so over the years I developed an intuitive relationship with the sea and nautical life. Although I hadn’t initially envisioned my career taking this direction, it appears everything was guiding me precisely here. Interestingly, through a close family member who has long been a Sunseeker yacht owner, I was introduced to part of the team I collaborate with today. Thus, my entry into Sunseeker represented a logical and natural progression of my journey – a blend of passion, expertise, and the opportunity to represent a brand that epitomizes excellence in every aspect.

Sunseeker Adriatic covers the entire region - Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. How does sales and support work?

Operating across such a vast territory requires exceptional organizational skills and constant communication between teams. Each country presents unique characteristics, yet buyers throughout the region share similar expectations: superior quality, reliability, and exemplary after-sales support. Our advantage lies in our well-developed network of service technicians and strong network of partners, ensuring that the client always knows they are not alone — whether they are in Tivat, Split, or Portorož. That’s one of the key reasons why they value us.

Your involvement in Sunseeker Adriatic started through Sunseeker Montenegro. What attracted you the most to this brand - technology, design, people?

I was drawn to Sunseeker because it integrates everything I value in a premium brand – cutting-edge technology, timeless design, and most significantly – exceptional individuals. Behind everything stands a professional team that functions with the cohesion of a family, possessing knowledge and dedication cultivated over decades.

Our team is part of the Sunseeker London Group, which covers all of Europe and provides support to clients across the continent and the region. This means that wherever a client chooses to sail – in Croatia, Spain, Greece, or the UK – they can rely on dependable technical and logistical support. We have colleagues who have been immersed in the Sunseeker world for over two decades, and their knowledge and experience prove invaluable, both to our sales team and to our clients. Such continuity and expertise represent a true rarity in the industry.

This combination of knowledge, stability, and genuine humanity appealed to me most profoundly – and it is why I take pride in being integrated into this team.

What does the client actually get when he becomes part of the Sunseeker world?

The client acquires far more than just a yacht – they secure an all-encompassing experience. From their initial consultation to the formal vessel handover and beyond, we remain consistently by their side. The acquisition process encompasses consultation, configuration, delivery supervision, testing and vessel registration…but what truly endures is the relationship we cultivate. Clients understand they have a dedicated team supporting them continuously – not merely during the warranty period, but for numerous years thereafter.

What does your working day look like during the season - and what is the key to success?

During the season, each day is intense and diverse – practically no two days look the same. I cover a large territory – Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia – which means I’m often on the road, in marinas, attending meetings with clients, or participating in sea trials.

Communication, logistics, delivery tracking, and a personalized approach to each client – all of this makes the job demanding, but also incredibly dynamic. In my opinion, the key to success lies in dedication and truly listening to the client. When you genuinely understand what someone wants – often even before they can articulate it themselves – you can offer a solution that is not just a boat, but an experience that lasts.

Which models are currently most in demand on our market? How do you see the future of the nautical industry in the region – and where does Sunseeker fit into that picture?

Currently, the highest demand is for yachts over 70 feet in length. I would also highlight the Sunseeker Manhattan 55, which is the entry-level model and consistently competitive—if not the best—in its category. Clients love it for its spacious layout, functionality, and because it’s ideal for family cruising.

We have also observed a fascinating shift within the larger yacht segment, particularly with the 100 Yacht model. This vessel merits special attention because it delivers the level of luxury and design of a superyacht while remaining eligible for registration as a standard yacht – affording clients enhanced flexibility and streamlined management. We have successfully placed this model on the market, clearly demonstrating substantial demand within this premium segment.

Regarding future prospects, I believe our region will continue its trajectory as an increasingly significant nautical market. Customers increasingly prioritize quality, autonomy, and extended time on water. This trend reveals tremendous potential for the innovative Sunseeker Ocean line – exemplified by models such as the Ocean 182 and Ocean 156. These vessels introduce a completely new concept – with expanded interior volumes designed for extended voyages and comfortable onboard living, aligning perfectly with an emerging trend that will undoubtedly gain momentum.

With increasing frequency, we notice our clientele seeking more than weekend vessels – they desire second homes on water. Sunseeker, through its development and future-oriented approach, responds impeccably to these requirements. Precisely here lies our competitive strength and opportunity for continued expansion. At the moment, models over 30 meters in length are in development.

Sunseeker is also developing several new and exciting projects in the over-30-meter segment. They haven’t been officially unveiled yet, but more information will be available soon – and I believe they will bring a completely new dimension to the brand’s offering.

And finally - when you're not working, do you still sail? And which Sunseeker yacht would you personally choose for a perfect weekend on the Adriatic?

Absolutely – the sea represents my form of escape. Whenever opportunity presents itself, I venture onto the water. I still cherish sailing whenever time permits, and recently I have developed a particular affinity for water sports such as e-foil – a great way to relax that maintains physical engagement at the same time.

For a perfect weekend exploring the Adriatic, my personal selection would be the Sunseeker Manhattan 55. It offers ample space for family and friends, while remaining sufficiently compact for effortless manoeuvring and discovering secluded coves. It combines comfort, style, and performance – precisely the qualities I value most while at sea.
