SALONE NAUTICO VENEZIA 2024 – Exploring Innovations

SALONE NAUTICO VENEZIA 2024 – Exploring Innovations

With a rich maritime tradition stretching back centuries, Venice continues to look to the sea as a source of innovation. This is perfectly exemplified by the 5th edition of the Boat Show, held in the renowned Arsenale from May 29th to June 2nd

The Show, organised by Vela Spa on behalf of the Municipality of Venice and in collaboration with the Italian Navy for the exceptional opening of the Arsenal compound, during last year’s edition has also been recognised as an international event from the Veneto Region, a proof of its maturity and its consolidation in the general panorama.

Over 30,000 visitors from all over the Adriatic basin crowded the Venice Arsenal in the last edition over 5 days of the event, with many visitors coming from approximately thirty foreign countries, mostly from Eastern Europe, confirming the centrality of the Show for this sector particularly referred to the Eastern market.

The 2024 edition aims to confirm the quantitative and qualitative growth of the event, gaining more national and international acclaim. And, it seems of particular symbolic and evocative value that the fifth edition of the Venice Boat Show, whose natural reference basin for the market is in the East, falls in the year in which the 700th anniversary of the death of Marco Polo occurs who, for first, it explored the “oriental” market through trade.

The spaces available to the approximately 250 expected exhibitors are distributed over a 50,000 m2 water basin to accommodate over 320 boats, of which 240 in the water, with over 1,100 linear meters of piers thanks to an important infrastructure intervention in the Arsenal complex, and on an indoor exhibition space of 5,000 m2. Confirmed among the exhibitors are Ferretti Group, Azimut Benetti, Solaris Yachts, Sanlorenzo Yachts, Pardo, Arcadia, Invictus, Absolute, FIM, Wider, Manda Yachts. The presence of the sailing segment is also growing, with important presences of Italian and international shipyards in both the mono-hull and multi-hull (catamaran) sectors.

The new opening of the medium dry dock area, in the Arsenale area, will consolidate the new exhibition layout proposed in the 2023 edition, dedicated to water sports with particular focus on electric SUP, SURF AND FOIL solutions and water tests of the solutions exposed. At the same time, a new exhibition concept in the Rio delle Galeazze will see the best of the production of wooden motor boats with both endothermic and electric engines.

In addition to discovering new products and visiting boats, the Boat Show will also be the venue for scientific events such as conferences, conferences and presentations, but also workshops and educational activities for children and families and water tests. Over 50 cultural and in-depth events are planned, including conferences and talk shows, most of which are dedicated to the theme of sustainability, the health of the sea and new electric and hybrid propulsion.

Venice therefore, also through its Boat Show and its particular attention to new hybrid and electric engines, strengthens its candidacy as “world capital of sustainability”, a true laboratory for “the oldest city of the future”.
