The two-time Formula 1 champion is taking a break from racing to enjoy life on the water. The legendary F1 driver is making waves on the open sea with his fully customized 60 Sunreef Power Eco catamaran.
“The 60 Sunreef Power Eco gave me exactly the yachting experience I was looking for,” the Spanish driver said in a statement. Alonso signed the contract for the electric catamaran on September 1, 2021. He was actively involved in the construction and customization process of the yacht, visiting the shipyard in Gdansk multiple times. His catamaran uses Sunreef Yachts’ solar system, ensuring a continuous supply of clean energy.
“The 60 Sunreef Power Eco provided me with quiet, long cruises free of exhaust fumes, allowing me to enjoy the sea in a completely new way,” Alonso said.
The yacht features an electric propulsion system, energy-efficient air conditioning, a spacious cockpit, a foredeck terrace, and a flybridge. For more information on Sunreef Yachts’ eco-friendly catamarans, contact their team.
“My world is made of passion, speed, and pressure. Here, every move matters. It’s a race against the clock. All the way to the last lap. All the way to the finish line. But when the clock stops, the world looks different. And all I feel is freedom. It doesn’t matter where I go. It’s always the right time. And as long as I cruise in silence, as long as I leave no trace, I know I’m on the right yacht,” he said.
