On June 5 and 6, the waterfront in the heart of Murter will bring together boats, nautical equipment, local restaurants, Kornati flavors, and the maritime heritage that gives this place its distinctive character
Murterska Promenada 2026 will take place on June 5 and 6 on the island of Murter. For two days, the waterfront will become an open meeting place for boating, gastronomy, and Murter’s local traditions. The festival brings together boat exhibitors, nautical equipment distributors, local producers, craftsmen, musicians, and visitors, creating an event that naturally draws on the identity of the place and its connection with the sea.
In Murter, boating is part of everyday life. That is why Murterska Promenada has a different atmosphere from classic boat show formats: boats are displayed along the waterfront, visitors move directly beside the sea, and the program continues through restaurants, music, local products, and encounters with people who live the maritime culture of this area day by day.
The festival also brings together the contemporary and the traditional. Alongside presentations of new boats, brands, and nautical equipment, it highlights the preserved heritage of Betina shipbuilding through traditional gajeta boats displayed at several locations. In this way, Murterska Promenada underlines what makes Murter recognizable: a deeply rooted maritime culture, the proximity of the Kornati Islands, and a living bond between boats, the waterfront, and the local community.
Murter Restaurant Week as an Introduction to the Festival
This year, Murterska Promenada also gains a broader gastronomic dimension through Murter Restaurant Week, which begins one week before the festival itself. During this period, participating taverns and restaurants in Murter will prepare special menus at promotional prices, created especially for this event.
Visitors will have the opportunity to taste traditional dishes, fresh seafood specialties, modern interpretations of Dalmatian cuisine, and authentic local flavors. The gastronomic program thus becomes an introduction to the festival days and an opportunity to present Murter through the sea, seasonal ingredients, and the simplicity of a good Dalmatian table.
During Murterska Promenada itself, on June 5 and 6, a Pop-Up Corner will be set up on the waterfront, where well-known Kornati restaurants will present specially prepared menus. With chef presentations and dishes prepared for the occasion, this part of the program brings a vivid culinary experience by the sea and further connects the festival with the Kornati Islands, one of the most important symbols of the waters around Murter.
Program for Visitors and Exhibitors
The Murterska Promenada program includes presentations of boats and nautical equipment, Murter Restaurant Week, pop-up cooking by Kornati restaurants, daytime and evening entertainment, and activities for visitors of all ages.
For exhibitors, exhibition tents and waterfront positions are planned, along with the possibility of mooring boats along the waterfront or on a pontoon, as well as demonstrations and sea trials. This format gives the event a practical and lively dimension: boats and equipment are presented in the environment for which they were created, directly by the sea and in close contact with the audience.
The aim of Murterska Promenada is to promote local values, strengthen the destination’s culinary, wine, and nautical offer, and create a recognizable event that contributes to its appeal and helps extend the season. The Murter waterfront, located in the very heart of the town, gives the festival a natural setting and a view of the local waters, keeping the event closely connected to the place in which it takes shape.
