Nestled in the prestigious Porto Montenegro marina, S-Nautica has been providing sea lovers with the ultimate luxury yachting experiences and the freedom of navigation for nearly three decades. As an exclusive representative of renowned brands, it provides comprehensive services that meet high standards and expectations, thereby ensuring long-term and successful business relationships. In our conversation with Borko Rkman, Sales Manager, we discover how S-Nautica has become synonymous with premium service and reliability in the nautical industry.
NP: S-Nautica has been present on the market since 1995, which makes it one of the pioneers of the nautical sector in our region. How would you describe the evolution of the company from its founding to the present day, and how has the market changed since then?
The ability of the founders to recognize trends at the right moment led to the successful development of the company through cooperation with some of the world’s most famous yachting brands. The yachting market, dynamic in nature, is constantly changing under the influence of innovation, creative design, client needs and lifestyles.
NP: You offer a wide range of services. How do you manage to maintain high standards in all fields and what are the company’s key goals for the coming years?
The essence of our service package is client satisfaction, which is our primary orientation, based on continuous support to all clients with the aim of long-term cooperation in a genuinely friendly spirit. In order for it to really work in practice, an honest and open approach must be present as the only way to build trust, which is of key importance for further business development.
NP: How important is the charter segment in your business and how do you balance the needs of yacht owners with the expectations of charter clients?
Looking at the regional market, yacht charter is a popular way for new clients to discover the world of yachting, and is also an important segment of our business during the summer season. Also, it represents a fairly profitable source of income for the owners, providing them with an efficient way to cover expenses.
NP: S-Nautica is an authorized distributor for several prestigious brands such as Fairline Yachts, Scanner Marine, MV Marine and Comitti. What made you choose these brands? How do their features and target groups complement each other, and how does S-Nautica manage to meet the diverse needs of its clients?
If a brand operates on basic but often neglected principles such as mutual respect, responsibility towards the client and commitment to quality and reputation, that brand is the right choice for us! It is a big challenge to find business partners for whom satisfied clients are a priority. Only through joint effort can we provide top-notch service, and the achievement of that basic goal leads to long-term cooperation.
We have been cooperating with most of our partners for more than ten years, founding our success on mutual trust and understanding of development trends. Such a result indisputably confirms the correctness of our decisions when choosing the brands to cooperate with.
Given that the wishes, tastes and lifestyles of clients are different, there is a need for a diverse offer. Following the latest trends and respecting the key needs of our clients, we have decided on brands that do not compete with each other, but complement each other perfectly. In this way, we enable clients to find everything they need in one place, providing them with a complete service that corresponds to their specific wishes and needs.
NP: Your partnership with Fairline Yachts marked the beginning of a new chapter for you. Can you tell us more about that and how you see this collaboration in the context of your long-term strategy?
Fairline is a renowned British brand known for quality, longevity and customer loyalty. When one becomes part of the Fairline family, one becomes more resistant to brand changes, as Fairline Yachts builds a warm and family atmosphere for its customers and associates. This approach allows building long-term trust among all stakeholders. Our goal is for Fairline to win back the well-deserved trust in the local market, benefiting from our company’s long-standing presence in this region.
NP: How different is the perception of the Fairline brand from other luxury yacht brands in our market? What are the key differences in terms of design, performance, equipment and overall experience that Fairline offers?
British brands are known for their traditional style and classic aristocratic touch in design. Italian brands, on the other hand, stand out with their “dolce vita” style, enriched with a warm Mediterranean spirit. Between these two directions there is a special class of Dutch practicality. Fairline has managed to harmonize the most prominent features of all three directions using the joint forces of well-known design studios, such as Alberto Mancini from Italy and Vripack Design from the Netherlands, with the already distinguishable quality of British construction. The implementation of individual advantages into a unique brand enables considerable flexibility and an innovative approach in the development of new models.
What are the major challenges you are currently facing in the nautical business and how does
NP: S-Nautica respond to those challenges?
The biggest challenge is to remain consistent and continuously present on the market with a high quality of service. This includes the successful implementation of changes arising from consumer demands, as well as an adequate response to financial challenges in the global market.
NP: How would you describe your most important professional successes and what were the key factors that contributed to achieving them?
My most important professional successes include the return of renowned brands to the market of Serbia and Montenegro. The key factors that contributed to their realization are the trust of investors and company founders in the correctness, long-term and continuity of our development direction.
NP: How do you see the future of nautical tourism in Montenegro in the context of global trends and local specificities?
Global trends have significantly influenced the development of yachting tourism in our region, representing key drivers of changes in various aspects of the industry. As such, they inevitably dictate the dynamics of development in our market, which is still relatively young, but with great potential. In the field of yachting, the markets of Montenegro and Serbia function as a single entity, given that most clients from Serbia keep yachts permanently docked in Montenegro. This reflects local specificity. Therefore, both markets are developing in harmony, with a bright outlook accompanied by continuous investment in quality infrastructure, including top-notch marinas.
