A five-year manufacturer’s warranty for all new Range Rover, Defender and Discovery models took a place on September 1, 2023. This initiative will give customers additional confidence and peace of mind choosing a vehicle from one of JLR’s luxury brands.
The new warranty applies to all models across Europe and extends the existing three-year warranty to provide protection for up to five years or 150,000 kilometers – whichever comes first
As a result, customers will be comprehensively protected by the warranty and continue to enjoy the highest level of service quality for longer than ever.
In addition, Range Rover, Defender and Discovery customers will also enjoy connectivity with InControl Remote for five years or 150,000 kilometres, which provides additional convenience and organizes assistance in the case of an emergency – in line with the modern luxury brand experience that JLR aims to deliver.
Three-year warranties are standard in the automotive industry, so the introduction of a five-year policy ensures that the Range Rover, Defender and Discovery make the extra mile for their customers. All models from each brand will be covered by a new five-year warranty, including both mild and plug-in electric hybrids, from September 1, 2023.
The new warranties mean that clients of all JLR brand will enjoy the same level of protection, since Jaguar models use benefits of a five-year warranty from July 1, 2022.
The extension of the existing warranty aims to improve the service experience of customers and owners with services during the coverage period, while allowing private users and commercial operators transparent calculation of maintenance and operating costs over a longer period.
The new five-year warranty will improve the ownership experience and it is promising a positive impact on the residual values of the Range Rover, Defender and Discover models. This, in turn, will increase the value of the used vehicle in the market. In the long term, higher residual values reduce ownership costs because they encourage more competitive leasing and financing terms.
Increased connectivity access with the InControl Remote will also be available from September 1 for all newly registered models. It allows users to interact with their vehicle easily and intuitively, even over long distances. This smartphone application can be used to check the fuel level and charge status, as well as to check if the doors and windows are closed or open. InControl Remote also optimizes roadside assistance and automatically sends an emergency call if necessary.
JLR’s new five-year warranty will be implemented in all European markets from September 1, raising the level of service quality across the continent.
