The collaboration between the Optima Design team and the Amerio family began four years ago, with ambitious projects that combine technical excellence, respect for the sea, and sustainable innovation. This partnership goes beyond a typical designer-shipyard relationship; it’s a commitment to creating unique vessels that reflect the values and experience of the Amerio family.
From developing a new line of steel and aluminum yachts to redesigning their fiberglass models, Optima Design is involved in every step of the process – from the first concept on a blank sheet to the delivery of the finished yachts. Below, we share details of some of the latest projects that showcase the blend of tradition and modern technology.
New Steel and Aluminum Line Projects
The partnership began with the design of a new line of steel and aluminum yachts, spanning models from 40 to 74 meters. Currently under construction are a 70-meter yacht and a 50-meter yacht, each tailored to meet client needs and featuring unique details that make these vessels truly exceptional.
Redesign of the Fiberglass Line
After the success of the steel line, the collaboration expanded to the fiberglass yacht line. Redesigned models include the F 106’, F 126’, and 96 Sanremo, as well as the fully aluminum L 146’, which incorporate sustainable materials and innovative technologies. The fiberglass hulls and basalt fiber decks make these yachts eco-friendly and fully recyclable. The use of eco-friendly resins, recycled PET, and aluminum further contributes to a sustainable approach.
The F 106 model, expected to be delivered in 2026, features a spacious interior and sophisticated exterior design. The full-beam salon, wide owner’s cabin, and large outdoor spaces offer exceptional comfort and luxury.
Sport and Performance: Amer 96 Sanremo
The Amer 96 Sanremo is a fast, sporty yacht focused on dynamism and elegance. This model offers four spacious cabins, a salon on the main deck, and an impressive sundeck, making it the perfect choice for lovers of fast, practical yachts.
The Essential Role of the Team
“In this work, the team is the most important. You can be a genius, but without a team, you cannot create the best yacht project,” emphasizes Antonio Luxardo, chief designer of Optima Design. The most critical tasks are entrusted to our technicians – from developing the concept to final production tailored to the needs of the shipyard.
Together, Optima Design and the Amerio family bring to the market yachts that are not only luxurious but also sustainable, functional, and adapted to the modern challenges of environmental conservation. Each project represents a fusion of tradition, innovation, and timeless elegance.
