New BYD SEAL 5 DM-i Unveiled at an Event at the BYD Showroom
BYD, the world’s No. 1 manufacturer of electric and hybrid vehicles, has won over the Serbian market in less than a year, and last night it unveiled a new model, the BYD SEAL 5 DM-i.
This plug-in hybrid sedan delivers an impressive combined range of up to 1,050 km with exceptionally low fuel consumption of 4.8 L/100 km, setting new standards in the world of hybrid vehicles. This super hybrid made its global debut in January 2025, and local audiences had the opportunity to see it up close and test-drive it at the model presentation held this December.
The BYD SEAL 5 DM-i was presented in Serbia for the first time on December 11, at the BYD Novi Beograd showroom, located at Bulevar Milutina Milankovića 7đ, in the presence of numerous guests, partners, car enthusiasts, and media representatives. The event reminded everyone how far innovative technology, design, and strong performance can take us. At the beginning of the evening, Nikola Samardžić, Sales and Network Development Director at TDV Automotive, the general importer of BYD vehicles for Serbia, addressed the guests.
“From March to December 2025, as many as 550 BYD vehicles will be delivered to customers in Serbia. Total sales have exceeded 800, while the plug-in hybrid BYD SEAL U DM-i was the best-selling plug-in hybrid model of any brand in Serbia. We are especially proud that over these nine months, BYD will take both first and second place in Serbia by the number of electric models sold”

TDV Automotive Procurement and Fleet Sales Manager Đorđe Milanović then presented the outstanding performance of this super hybrid, including its ultra-fast battery charging capability, as well as optimized engine operation that enables maximum efficiency, without the noise typically produced by internal combustion engines.
“The SEAL 5 model is based on Super DM technology, a system that uses a powerful electric motor powered by a high-capacity battery. The internal combustion engine is used mainly as a secondary energy source. In this way, the car delivers an experience very similar to an electric vehicle, with very low energy consumption. Thanks to Super DM technology, the BYD SEAL 5 DM-i achieves a combined range of 1,050 km”

After the official part of the evening, guests had the opportunity to explore the BYD SEAL 5 DM-i in detail, from the recognizable futuristic design featured across BYD vehicles to the spacious interior, which offers numerous software-based systems for safer, more practical, and more entertaining driving. The model is available in two trim levels: Comfort, priced at €29,990, and the more advanced Design, priced at €31,990.
