AZIMUT SEADECK 7 – The Green Revolution

In collaboration with the innovative company Volvo Penta, Azimut has created a model that perfectly balances top performance and comfort while simultaneously reducing its ecological footprint. Owners of this yacht have the opportunity to enjoy a unique boating experience that redefines the boundaries of nautical enjoyment!

The Azimut Seadeck 7 marks a significant step forward in luxury yachting, blending innovative design, state-of-the-art technology, and a strong commitment to sustainability. Following in the footsteps of its sibling, the Seadeck 6, this new model is the first in Azimut’s lineup to feature a fully integrated hybrid-electric drive system. This advancement, a result of the close collaboration with Volvo Penta, allows the Seadeck 7 to achieve up to a 40% reduction in emissions, setting a new standard in eco-conscious cruising.

HYBRID TECHNOLOGY AND SUSTAINABILITY

One of the standout features of the Azimut Seadeck 7 is its hybrid drive, combining Volvo Penta’s IPS propulsion system with electric motors and batteries. This integration allows the yacht to operate in pure electric mode at speeds up to 11 knots, providing zero-emission cruising and minimizing its environmental impact. Additionally, the yacht can remain at anchor without a generator for up to 12 hours, offering a silent and serene experience for owners and guests.
The Volvo Penta D13 IPS hybrid package is designed for seamless transitions between power modes, enhancing fuel efficiency and onboard comfort. Much like a hybrid car, the system shifts between electric and diesel engines based on speed, ensuring a balance between eco-friendly operation and powerful propulsion when needed. This flexibility makes the Seadeck 7 an ideal choice for both short-distance cruising in electric mode and longer voyages with the added power of its diesel engines.

Beyond its hybrid drive, the Seadeck 7 incorporates advanced technologies to reduce emissions, such as a carbon-fiber infused hull and vacuum-infused construction, which help to reduce the overall weight of the vessel and improve fuel efficiency. Azimut also uses sustainable materials like reconstituted cork decking and carpets made from recycled plastics, further decreasing the environmental footprint of this model.
The collaboration between Azimut and Volvo Penta aims to deliver tangible results in reducing CO2 emissions and improving resource efficiency. This pioneering project sets the stage for future yachts in the sub-24 meter category, where hybrid solutions can make a significant impact on both the market and the environment.

A BLEND OF COMFORT AND SUSTAINABILITY

The Azimut Seadeck 7 brings forward a revolutionary design, focusing on maximizing comfort and fostering a deep connection with the sea. The exterior, crafted by designer Alberto Mancini, features soft lines and an open-plan layout that seamlessly merges indoor and outdoor spaces. This approach allows owners and guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding marine environment.

A standout feature of the design is the Fun Island concept, which places a premium on enjoying the water. This central area includes a spacious sunbed and dining space, flanked by fold-down platforms on both sides, as well as a drop-down staircase leading directly into the water. The starboard platform even includes fittings for a hammock stand, creating a private and relaxing sanctuary above the waves. These features transform the Seadeck 7 into a floating oasis, offering an unparalleled blend of relaxation and connection to nature.

Azimut has employed advanced materials like carbon fiber and reconstituted components for the yacht’s hull and superstructure, achieving a significant reduction in overall weight and boosting fuel efficiency. Additionally, the use of recycled materials in interior furnishings and finishes aligns with Azimut’s commitment to sustainability. This focus on reducing the yacht’s environmental impact has earned the Seadeck 7 the RINA Green Plus Platinum certification, underscoring its high standard of sustainable design.

POWER AND VERSATILITY IN ONE PACKAGE

The Azimut Seadeck 7 boasts a length overall (LOA) of 71 feet (21.7 meters) and a beam of 18 feet (5.5 meters), offering generous space for onboard living. It is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS1200 or IPS1350 engines, enabling the yacht to reach a top speed of 32 knots while maintaining efficiency through its hybrid capabilities.
The advanced Volvo Penta IPS system, renowned for its maneuverability and fuel efficiency, provides precise control with its Joystick Docking feature. This technology allows smooth handling even in tight spaces, making it ideal for docking in marinas or navigating protected areas. Additionally, the Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) helps the vessel maintain its position even in strong currents, ensuring ease during mooring and other operations.
Inside, the Seadeck 7 offers four spacious cabins and three bathrooms, accommodating up to eight guests. An additional ensuite cabin is available for crew members, ensuring maximum comfort and privacy for owners and their guests. The compact flybridge design allows space for a substantial solar array, extending the yacht’s autonomy and supporting its sustainable operation.

CONFIRMATION OF INNOVATION AND DESIGN

From the very beginning of its market journey, the Azimut Seadeck 7 has captured the attention of the nautical community, winning prestigious awards that confirm its innovative approach and top-notch design. At the 2024 Design Innovation Awards, the Seadeck 7 model triumphed in the category of “motor yachts over 14 meters” and won recognition for its revolutionary hybrid propulsion system and sustainable design.

The award was given for “an electric-hybrid yacht that implements sustainable solutions within a new collaborative vision,” highlighting Azimut’s commitment to reducing emissions and environmentally conscious design. This recognition is particularly significant as it relates to the segment of vessels under 24 meters, where innovations can have a major impact on the market.
In addition, at the World Yachts Trophies 2024 event, the Azimut Seadeck 7 received an award for the best exterior design, another recognition for the work of designer Alberto Mancini. This award highlights the Fun Island concept and the approach that invites owners and guests to intensively enjoy the sea and nature. These awards are the crown for Azimut’s efforts and collaboration with Volvo Penta, as well as for the dedication to improving the life experience on the water through innovative and sustainable solutions.

The Azimut Seadeck 7 proves that sustainability and luxury can go hand in hand, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy the water without compromise, in accordance with the highest standards in design and technology
