The Aquila 54 Power Catamaran perfectly blends versatility, innovation, and luxury, offering boaters a vessel that not only delivers top-tier performance but also provides unparalleled comfort. This model builds on everything that has made previous Aquila catamarans so popular, with added luxuries that promise an unforgettable experience on the water
The Aquila 54 Power Catamaran made waves with its world premiere, winning the prestigious Multihull of the Year 2021 award, a recognition of its exceptional design and performance. This victory reinforces the growing demand for multihull yachts, which is now so significant that a separate competition has been organized for them.
It’s important to note that the judges in this competition were sailors themselves, including owners of the nominated boats. With over 8,300 votes cast for the nominees and winners, the victory of the Aquila 54 becomes even more compelling.
Why did the Aquila 54 stand out in a market filled with established shipyards producing motor catamarans? The Aquila 54 was designed to change the perception of the aesthetic values of multihulls, surpassing traditional forms and offering a more elegant appearance. While many larger catamarans have been criticized for their rigid and boxy lines, the Aquila 54 brings dynamic sophistication to its design. With its shape, gradually tapering towards the bow and aerodynamic profiles, the catamaran resembles a luxury yacht rather than an ordinary boat.
Looking at the contours of the Aquila 54, it is clear that the shipyard wants to demonstrate that catamarans do not have to be merely “floating spaces,” but can also feature designs that exude elegance, much like superyachts. The combination of the open flybridge, modern glass panels, and carefully crafted details such as the Portuguese bridge gives the Aquila 54 an appearance perfectly aligned with the contemporary aesthetic demands of luxury vessels.
SPACIOUS AND VERSATILE DESIGN
The Aquila 54 is designed with a special focus on the needs of modern boaters. With layout options that include 3, 4, and even 5 cabins, as well as dedicated skipper’s quarters and “galley-down” configurations, this catamaran offers flexibility that meets the varying demands of its owners. Each cabin, including the full-beam master suite, is designed to provide maximum comfort and natural light through large hull-side windows.
SKY LOUNGE: THE PERFECT BLEND OF LUXURY AND FUNCTIONALITY
One of the standout features of the Aquila 54 is its breathtaking flybridge, the Sky Lounge. Offering 360-degree glass panels that can be opened to let in the fresh breeze or closed to maintain a comfortable climate-controlled environment, this space sets a new standard in luxury and functionality. An interior staircase leads to the main salon, and the aft portion features a summer kitchen and lounge areas perfect for relaxing or entertaining on the water.
INTERIOR: A HOUSE ON WATER
The Aquila 54 is more than just a boat; it’s a true floating home. With 2020 square feet of living space, this catamaran offers incredible comfort. The main salon includes a full U-shaped settee, dining area, TV, and 360-degree glass panels for an open-air experience. The galley is fully equipped, including a full-size refrigerator, making it easy to enjoy home-like comforts while at sea. A bridge leads to the bow, providing quick access to the mooring ball and allowing the owner to stay connected with guests during the cruise.
LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS FOR OWNER AND GUESTS
The master suite, located at the bow, spans the full width of the boat (25 feet 2 inches), offering twin sinks, a walk-in closet, and ample space for the owner and first mate. This suite also provides access to the C-Zone, allowing the owner to control the entire vessel from the suite. In addition to the master suite, the Aquila 54 offers two guest cabins, each with en-suite bathrooms and separate showers, ensuring ultimate comfort for guests.
POWER AND EFFICIENCY
The Aquila 54 offers three different propulsion options, including twin 380hp Volvo Penta engines, 480hp Volvo Penta D8s, and 550hp Cummins engines. The twin engines provide excellent maneuverability, making it easy to navigate the boat, especially during marina departures. With these engine options, the Aquila 54 delivers impressive performance, cruising at about 16 knots at 2,800 rpm, with a top speed of 22 knots using the 480hp engines, or 25 knots with the 550hp Cummins. Additionally, the boat’s two-hull design ensures smooth handling and stability, offering comfort even during sharp turns. The range is also remarkable, allowing the vessel to cover around 1,000 miles at a speed of 8 knots, with the option to add two 360-litre fuel tanks for extended journeys.
