Amer 42A luxury aluminum yacht at sea

AMER 42A: ALUMINUM AS A NEW DESIGN SIGNATURE

Amer 42A uses aluminum from hull to superstructure and, through architect Antonio Luxardo’s concept, introduces more fluid lines, lighter construction, and a stronger visual identity for the brand

This is the Amer 42A, where “A” stands for “aluminum.” Much more than a yacht, it is an immersive experience designed for those who desire to live at sea in its most authentic and refined form. Lines sculpted by light, elegant proportions, and a discreet presence.

Born from a concept developed by architect Antonio Luxardo for Amer, the project combines innovation, functionality, and aesthetics in a precise technical and stylistic vision.
Architect Antonio Luxardo has introduced an original and highly personal language to convey dynamism and sportiness while maintaining large windows, essential today, to enhance the interior/exterior connection that underpins immersion in the surrounding environment, also perceived from inside. Instead of being simply horizontal and overlapping, the deck markers have been moved in a sinuous movement that contributes to giving the Amer 42A a look of energy, dynamism, and sportiness. These formal choices are even more feasible with a flexible and ductile material like aluminum, which allows for the creation of curves, undercuts, overhangs, and cantilevers like no other, making possible the ideas and the creativity of the designer.

The all-aluminum construction – from hull to superstructure – reduces overall weight and improves performance, enabling higher speeds with greater efficiency. The lines express a decisive character: a sporty, dynamic, and low-slung trim, made possible by the choice of lightweight materials that reduce drag and optimize navigation. At 42 meters long, the Amer 42A represents a precise balance between engineering and contemporary design, where every construction choice translates into a coherent and distinctive onboard experience, both in the shared areas and the more private spaces, from the full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck to the guest cabins on the lower deck, all the way to the sundeck designed for absolute relaxation.

This project is part of the stylistic and product research developed by Luxardo for the Amer Yachts SpA shipyard—a journey that began five years ago with the Steel line and continued with the new fiberglass models 96 Sanremo, F106, and F126. The 42A stems from the desire to create innovative living spaces combined with a highly distinctive design, granting the brand a powerful and recognizable identity.
