Rolls Royce recently introduced the Hyperdrive Hybrid Concept concept – Crystal Blue to the Global Superyacht Forum in Amsterdam.
The boat, 62 meters long, based on the advanced Hybrid Propulsion Platform, uses TNGs and has a package of TWIN MTU M65-N generators, which are connected to a massive battery that has 1MWh of power. Two carbon propellers Azipull give this ship a maximum speed of 20 knots.
“Crystal Blue is designed to show that the new technology can meet the increased demand of the yacht sector for higher performance, higher operating ranges and increased levels of comfort for guests, without environmental impact“, explains Oskar Levander, senior vice-president for concepts and innovation at Rolls-Royce.
The Rolls Royce Miracle has an accommodation capacity of 12 guests and 12 crew members. This design can be constructed of aluminum or composites as needed, and is designed to work alongside a 42 meter long Blue Shadow boat that is remotely controlled. Blue Shadow will carry fuel supplies, water toys and all other supplies, while the Crystal Blue yachts will have enough fuel for up to 3,000 nautical miles.
It is very important for this concept to use the Unified Bridge system – the technology of remote control of tractors.
